Referral Bonus Program Overview

Highwire’s External Referral Bonus program (the “Program”) offers a one-time referral payment to persons unaffiliated with Highwire to help Highwire attract, hire, and retain the very best talent in the United States. Referrals are valid for 12 months from the date of submission. 

Participant Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in this program, you must be an individual (not a business entity) who is at least 18 years of age. Immediate family members of current Highwire employees and employees of recruiting agencies or staffing firms are not eligible.

Candidate Eligibility

In order to qualify for the external referral program and receive the $5,000 bonus, the candidate you submit must meet the following criteria:

  • The candidate must interview for and accept an offer of full-time regular employment at Highwire (this excludes seasonal hires, internships, and part-time or temporary positions).
  • The candidate cannot be a current or former Highwire employee.
  • Candidates cannot have applied directly to Highwire or have been submitted as a referral by someone else within the past 12 months.

How to submit a referral candidate

To submit a referral candidate, complete this form. Referrals submitted any other way, or that do not include all of the required information or are not properly identified will NOT be eligible for this Program. The Highwire Talent team will review the submission and contact you to confirm receipt of the referral. If the referred candidate appears to be a match, we will contact him or her. The referred person must acknowledge that you referred him or her, and then we will ask him or her to apply online through the Highwire careers website.

Payment of Bonus

If you are eligible to participate in the Program, Highwire shall pay you a one-time external referral payment in the amount of $5,000.00 if the referral results in a successful regular full-time hire, and such referred employee:

  • Acknowledges he or she was referred by you
  • Completes 60 days of continuous, active employment with Highwire
  • Is in good performance standing at the end of such 60 day period
  • Is actively employed by Highwire at the time the external referral bonus is to be paid

If the referral is hired by Highwire, you will be required to complete all applicable tax forms before receiving payment. You will be solely responsible for paying appropriate state and federal taxes and will be required to complete a W-9 or W-8BEN, whichever is applicable, and any other documentation that Highwire may require before payment is made. Highwire will report external referral payments to the appropriate tax authorities.

Highwire will process the external referral bonus within 30 days after the referred employee completes the 60 days of employment mentioned above and the required paperwork has been submitted.

Additional information, rules, and guidelines

  1. In the event that more than one external person refers to the same candidate and such candidate is hired by Highwire, the external referral bonus will be awarded to the first referrer based on the timestamp of the submission. 
  2. Referrals must be submitted through to qualify for the bonus payment. The terms and conditions of this external referral bonus program are subject to change or termination at any time and at Highwire’s sole discretion.
  3. You agree that Highwire’s total liability under this agreement for any cause of action relating to the subject matter of this agreement (regardless of the nature of such claim) is the lesser of your actual, direct damages or $5,000.
