Celebrating Safety Week: Meet our Customers

Ask any owner or general contractor, and they’ll tell you—without fail—that safety is the cornerstone of everything they do.

Safety Week 2023 is upon us, and here at Highwire, we want to do our part by recognizing our customers who have impacted safety across countless projects.

This year’s theme: Strong Voices, Safe Choices

Every year, safety professionals and skilled workers mark their calendars for the first week of May when industry leaders bring the issue of safety into the limelight. Construction Safety Week (May 1-5, 2023) is an annual celebration of safety professionals, executives, and front-line workers, honoring their hard work to improve working conditions and safety processes to make job sites injury-free.

This year, we chose to highlight safety leaders for their work that exemplifies this year’s Safety Week theme: Strong Voices, Safe Choices. Four pillars comprise the theme: empowerment, recognition, partnership, and impact.

Empowerment is about team-building. It describes how these companies support their employees by highlighting their essential role in keeping crews and job sites safe during a project.

Key to empowering teams is recognition, which is all about uniting workers around a singular objective: acknowledging that not all hazards are readily apparent to crews on a job site. Recognizing means teams can “see more, prevent more, and overcome more” together by avoiding potential dangers that lurk beneath the surface.

Our safety leaders are undoubtedly familiar with the third pillar: partnership. Safety can only be achieved through collaboration. As the saying goes, there is strength in numbers; the more collaboration between teams—from the upper levels of management down to the front lines—the more eyes and ears attuned to the risks.

Lastly, fostering a strong safety culture is about making an impact by cultivating trust, respect, and communication. Companies that make the most significant impact show they genuinely care about the communities they serve. And that sense of care extends to everything they do, including how they proactively address safety concerns on and off the job site.
